Favorite candy:
My FAVORITE candy is Swedish fish (original cherry flavored, of course!)

What I learned from this unique collaboration:
This process has been a strong and helpful lesson in proportion. You can't just take a seam out, you really have to premeditate the placement of each candy while keeping a fashion forward silhouette. I've also gained a lot of self control from being surrounded by candy 24-7, and not being able to eat it!

Jawbreaker
Garment description & inspiration: A total jaw-dropper! This garment is inspired by crystallization and rock formation, with many candy elements broken to create an ideal silhouette marked by sharp texture and edgy volume. The collar is made from different lengths and flavors of candy cane sticks bursting out from the shoulder and hugging the neck. The bodice is made of crushed candy sticks, crushed super jawbreakers and assorted rock candy. Jawbreaker is sure to crush the competition!

Candy used:
  • Large jaw breakers
  • Medium jaw breakers
  • Small jaw breakers
  • Assorted candy circus sticks

Talk about creativity, Jaime has taken giant jawbreakers, crushed them and turned them into an elegant evening dress. What I love about this dress is the texture, the rough-hewn fragments of the jawbreakers that look like geodes. And the explosive shoulder broach of candy cane. Very sophisticated. - Michael Fink

This dress is funky, sexy and somewhat "punk candy couture". I love use of jawbreaker and circus stick colors, as these are the colors I often use within the Dylan’s Candy Bar stores. The spikes of candy sticks emphasizing the shoulder are very funky, "fierce" and somewhat explosive -like firework sparks coming off ones’ body. It’s truly a candy spectacular! - Dylan Lauren

Says fun, party, celebrate! Dynamite. - Paula Wallace
