Hertfordshire, United Kingdom Favorite candy: My favorite type of candy is chocolate covered raisins and Brazilian nuts. Yum! What I learned from this unique collaboration: With this project I've really learned to look further than just using a basic fabric to make a garment; but rather try and experiment with other less obvious materials. It's about keeping things interesting by forcing myself to broaden my fabrics horizon. I've also learned to be patient. Using candy is definitely not a process to be rushed and I've learned this the hard way! I-Candy Garment description & inspiration: The girly girl gets all the attention! This dress is fresh, vibrant, and fabulously feminine, inspired by classic floral prints and the storied extravagance of Marie Antoinette. Atop a bouquet of fragrant flowers created by swirls of sour belts and jellybeans as gems, the licorice bodice is woven to mimic a basket. Inspired by florists in the sweet summertime, I-Candy is sure to catch the crowd’s attention. Candy used:
Kashfia has taken a very aggressive yet sweet approach to her outfit. The top is made out of woven licorice and reminds me of an Amazon or samurai kind of armor. The bottom, made out of sour ropes, is beautifully done – short, tight, very flirty – embellished with passementerie. Very pretty. - Michael Fink I'm a big fan of halter tops! The black licorice halter has the color, texture and waxy sheen of a black leather braided top that is very Angelina Jolie. The curled sour belts and licorice wheels are very intricate and whimsical. However, I'm not a big fan of the color combo-the black is somewhat harsh and the strawberry-banana sour belts are too pastel. Still, this is a dress that's quirky and definitely unique! - Dylan Lauren Probably my favorite. Gorgeous colors, exuberant, and flirty. - Paula Wallace Vote nowBack to designers |
