Atlanta, Georgia, USA Favorite candy: My favorite candy is the sour belt candies What I learned from this unique collaboration: What I have learned from this candy collaboration is that working with candy is far different than any fabric I've ever worked with - the candy is a lot more delicate. I've learned that by playing and working with the candy it almost forces you to be more creative and to discover new and interesting ideas. Candiva Garment description & inspiration: Sassy, sexy, and glamorous, Candiva is the ultimate candy diva. This garment features crushed, gradiated blueberry rock candy integrated with sour belts to create a figure-hugging corseted bodice, supported by sour belt straps laced around the shoulders and neck. Candiva seems to melt into two large tiers of blue sour belt candies—a perfect finish. Candy used:
Storm has used a paper mache base to layer on sour belts and rock candy. The details of the gown are just amazing. The tight-fitting bodice of rock crystals that look like sequins really catch the light. Then there’s the ruffling and ruching that bring the skirt to life. To me, this gown can walk off a Paris runway. - Michael Fink This dress is gorgeous! I'd like to wear it to the Met Costume Ball! Its long, glamorous and classic- Very Grace Kelly or Princess Diana. I also like the juxposition of the rock candy’s sharp edges and the soft clusters of the cotton candy, jelly beans and sour belts. - Dylan Lauren Needs finesse in the execution, but I believe this designer can pull off this elegant, monochromatic look. - Paula Wallace Vote nowBack to designers |
