Candy Crafts: Make A Rainbow Candy Lei

Summer is almost here! There’s no better way to kick off the season than with a colorful, sweet celebration. Inspired by our Limited Edition Aloha Rainbow Collection, our DIY candy garland is a fun & tasty  candy craft idea the whole family can enjoy. This versatile craft can be made with any Bulk Candy, and vary in length to fit adults, kids, or be made into a table runner or centerpiece! You’ll Need:

  • One Pack Of Cellophane Party Favor Bags         & Twist Ties (We used 11” x 3” bags)
  • Colorful Candy
  • Curling Ribbon
  • Scissors

To Make Your Lei:

1. About two inches from the bottom of your first cello bag, use a twist tie to tie off the bottom and create a fish tail shape.

2. Fill the bag will a small handful of candy, then use another twist tie to secure the candy into a small ball shape. Repeat so each bag contains 2 sections of candy.

3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 until your lei reaches the length you’d like. We used 16 sections (8 bags total) to make a generous adult-sized DIY candy wreath.

4. To attach your sections, overlap ends of the cello bags until twist ties meet and tie together with curling ribbon. Be sure to double knot for extra security!

5. Trim excess cellophane from connection points & use scissors to curl the ends of the curling ribbon.
